Customer Profile
Stark Tech’s Integration Team from mc2 has been working with AdventHeath for over seven years. We learned early in our relationship that AdventHealth was a forward-thinking company. They understand that investing in building technologies will have a great impact on lowering operating expenses. That mind-set is what has put us in the position we are in today of integrating and maintaining more than 20,000 points from a variety of different building systems, both old and new. These building points and systems include; Energy Management Systems, HVAC & Lighting Control, CCTV, Security & Access Control Systems.
Project Profile
AdventHealth’s progressive mind-set is also the driving force for the future of our working relationship as they are possibly looking into implementing our Enterprise Building Management System platform across building portfolio. Our Enterprise BMS platform will centralize all building points and systems to a secure, web-based platform. This enables AdventHealth operators to visualize all aspects of their building’s operations from a single pane of glass and take immediate action when needed.
Our team has successfully implemented our Enterprise BMS platform at the newly constructed Support Center (Building 3), actively involved from the inception and design process to the final execution of the project. We worked together with AdventHealth and the project engineers when designing the project, which allowed the customer to avoid $225,000 in design costs.
Project Results
The technologies implemented at the Support Center enabled AdventHealth to capture approximately 19.1% electric usage savings and 14.35% in electric cost savings. Although we classify these savings as cost avoidance, it is essential to note that the Support Center is a newly built facility. The Support Center was fully functioning in May 2018. As illustrated in the chart below, the building’s electric usage in May of 2018 was approximately 228,200 kWh. We deployed our technologies, specifically HVAC and Lighting Controls, in June of 2018. Once our technologies were in place, the Support Center’s usage stabilized. The usage volumes from June to December 2018 represented future use patterns more accurately. The blue line represents the approximate energy usage without our technologies.
The technologies our Stark Team implemented were less than 2% of the Support Center’s construction costs. As demonstrated, our team and technology deliver significant savings and cost avoidance. When we actively engage in the early design elements of new building construction or retrofits – cost avoidance happens. We have designed these capabilities to scale and can execute them across AdventHealth’s entire portfolio.
Final Cost Avoidance and Savings
- Design Costs Avoidance: $225,000
- Electric Costs Savings: $33,669
- Total Savings & Cost Avoidance: $258,669
