Customer Profile
AdventHealth is a non-profit healthcare system headquartered in Altamonte Springs, Florida, and operates facilities in nine states across the United States. Stark Tech has been working with AdventHeath for more than a decade. We learned early in our partnership that AdventHealth is a forward-thinking organization that understands the importance of investing in building technologies and how it has a great impact on lowering operating expenses.
The Health Care System’s forward-thinking mindset has put us in our position today of integrating and maintaining more than 20,000 points from various building systems, both old and new. These building points and systems include energy management systems, HVAC & Lighting Control, CCTV, Security & Access Control Systems.
AdventHealth’s forward-thinking is also the driving force for the future of our working relationship, as they are possibly looking to implement our enterprise platform across their portfolio of buildings and integrate all building systems. Our enterprise platform will centralize all building points and systems to a secure, web-based platform. AdventHealth operators can visualize all aspects of their building’s operations from one computer monitor and take immediate action when needed.
Project Overview
Stark Tech has completed the implementation of our enterprise platform at the newly built Support Center (Building 3), where our team was involved very early from the inception and design process all the way to the final execution of the project. We worked together with AdventHealth and Engineers when designing the project and by doing so, the Health Care System was able to avoid $225,000 design costs.
Our technologies implemented at the Support Center enabled AdventHealth to capture approximately 19.1% electric usage savings and 14.35% in electric cost savings. However, given that the Support Center is a newly built facility, these savings are better classified as cost avoidance.
The Support Center was fully functioning in May 2018. The chart below illustrates that the building’s electric usage in May was approximately 228,200 kWh. Our technologies, specifically HVAC and Lighting Controls, weren’t deployed until June. After our technologies were deployed, the Support Center’s usage stabilized. June through December 2018 usage volumes are much more representative of future use patterns. The blue line represents the approximate energy usage without our technologies.
Our implemented technologies were less than 2% of the Support Center’s construction costs. As demonstrated, when our team and technology is involved in the early design elements of new building construction or retrofits, we can provide significant savings and costs avoidance. These capabilities are designed to scale and can be executed across AdventHealth’s entire portfolio.
