Stark Tech Expands Board with Addition of Clean-Tech Expert

Buffalo, NY – Stark Tech, a facilities management and energy optimization leader, has recently expanded its board of directors. Included in those additions is Jon Powers, President and co-founder of CleanCapital and clean-tech expert.

He joins the board to bring outside expertise and leadership in clean tech. Stark recently added three new companies to its portfolio to expand offerings as a clean-tech provider.

Jon will help guide the board in decisions that elevate the solutions and capabilities to the markets Stark serves, including renewable natural gas, battery energy storage, and turnkey renewable development, focused on, but not limited to, solar and biogas solutions.

From Special Advisor to Sustainability Officer

Jon is a clean energy and national security expert committed to making clean energy accessible to everyone. He currently leads the business development and marketing divisions for CleanCapital.  Before that, he taught public-sector business development at Bloom Energy. His passion for clean energy stems from his time serving with the U.S. Army in Iraq, where he learned how vital clean energy is to protect America’s national security. He helped to revolutionize the U.S. Army’s energy program, first as Special Adviser for Energy to the Assistant Secretary of the Army and later as Director of Outreach for the Army’s Energy Initiatives Task Force. In 2012, President Obama appointed Jon to the Federal Chief Sustainability Officer post.

“We are thrilled to bring Jon, a clean-tech expert to the board of directors. His talent and expertise will be vital to the future growth of Stark Tech,” said Tim Geiger, President of Stark Tech. “In order for Stark Tech to continue to grow and service our customers’ needs, we need to continue to be nimble, bold, and gritty, adding capabilities based on market trends and customer needs.”

The company will continue to offer turnkey solutions to the building services industry but has added new capabilities in response to new regulatory guidelines and government incentives pushing renewable integration. Stark Tech implements solutions that help stabilize the power grid so the lights “stay on” when the power goes out.
