Stark Tech recently expanded its executive team and the board of directors to support initiatives and bring outside governance to the company. To ensure communication and alignment from the top down, Lisa Polizzi has recently been hired by Stark Tech to serve in the role of Executive Communications Manager and Board Liaison.
A native of the City of Buffalo, Lisa spent over two decades as an award-winning broadcast journalist, working in the Buffalo, Kentucky and Maryland markets. Her most recent leadership position in the local television industry was news director at WIVB-TV in Buffalo.
Lisa has 14 years of experience as a manager, with her previous roles including time spent on strategic planning, writing and editing online and broadcast content, managing short-term and long-term budgets, and supervising over 50 employees.
She has extensive experience in hiring, recruiting and training employees. Her most recent employment included overseeing the creation and development of unique news programs and ensuring the establishment of WIVB-TV as Western New York’s news leader for televised and digital local news content. She also provided guidance and direction to an entire newsroom during the global health pandemic that altered the day-to-day operations of the entire company. Her dedication to her work included the installation of a culture of innovation and creativity.
“Lisa will play a key role in ensuring corporate alignment, working directly with me, the executive team, and our board of directors,” said Tim Geiger, President of Stark Tech. “Her extensive background in communications will be leveraged as we achieve our strategic goals and initiatives.”
Lisa’s community contacts spread far and wide throughout Western New York, including several established relationships with numerous non-profit organizations.
“I am passionate about community service, particularly volunteer work,” said Polizzi. “My deep interest in networking and interacting with others to help solve problems has allowed me to have some incredible hands-on experiences with various organizations. I look forward to continuing that type of work in my new role with Stark Tech and know that my desire to always improve my workplace and community make me an ideal fit for this unique position with an outstanding company.”
A graduate of Buffalo State College, Lisa is currently a student in Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communication and the Whitman School of Management. She expects to earn her degree by the end of 2022.
